The truck driver, 51, was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. He was later brought to Dayton's Miami Valley Hospital by helicopter, where he was treated for injuries. He was later listed to be in fair condition.

Authorities are carefully investigating the fatal accident. A preliminary investigation revealed that the pickup truck veered left of center, causing the deadly collision. Authorities are still looking into the accident, but the sheriff's office indicated that alcohol may have been a factor. No charges have been filed at this time.

Family and friends of the deceased man are grieving the loss. His sisters mentioned that he had recently received a promotion at work and was on his way home to see his fiancée when the accident happened. They spoke of how much they will miss their caring, thoughtful and generous brother.

However, when that death occurred because another driver failed to pay attention to the roadway or was driving while intoxicated, it is even more difficult to accept. These types of accidents are particularly tough for survivors to deal with because they are completely preventable.
